The Lagos State Sports Commission has endorsed the inaugural Lagos Entertainment Association Games and Awards, with the event scheduled to take place in Lagos in September 2026.

Organised by the Lagos Entertainment Association, LEAGA will combine sporting and recreational activities with an awards and gala night for members of the entertainment and creative industries. The organisers say the event is intended to promote wellness, unity, networking and collaboration within the sector.

The programme will include competitions in football, basketball, athletics, table tennis, tennis and relay races. It will also feature draughts, Ayo Olopon, dance and fitness challenges.

The inaugural edition will honour cultural and sports figures, including Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka, former football captain Segun Odegbami, composer and music scholar Lazarus Ekwueme, artist Bruce Onobrakpeya and actress Taiwo Ajai-Lycett.

The event will conclude with an awards and gala night celebrating contributions to the entertainment and creative industries. The endorsement by the Lagos State Sports Commission places the commission among the institutions associated with the September 2026 debut, alongside the Lagos Entertainment Association.

The research information names Muyiwa Osinaike and Lekan Fatodu among the entities linked to the announcement but does not provide their specific roles or direct statements. It also does not state the venue, a detailed schedule, registration arrangements or the categories for the awards.
