The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state partners, is investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Typhimurium infections linked to Live it Up-brand Super Greens dietary supplement powder. The product is sold primarily online, including through the company’s website and major e-commerce platforms.

The FDA’s outbreak notice states that illnesses have been reported across multiple states, with dozens of people infected and a number of hospitalizations. The agency also reports that exposure information collected from sick patients indicated a significant share had consumed the supplement powder before becoming ill.

Products and dates involved

The advisory covers Live it Up-brand Super Greens powder (including original and wild berry flavors) with expiration dates ranging from 08/2026 to 01/2028. The FDA notes that additional products could be identified as the investigation continues, and the public notice may be updated as more information becomes available.

A current update in the FDA posting dated January 14, 2026 says the firm agreed to initiate a voluntary recall after the FDA recommended recalling affected products. Officials also advised consumers and retailers to avoid using or selling the specified products and to dispose of or return them.

Symptoms and recommended actions

Salmonella infection typically begins within 12 to 72 hours after exposure and can include diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps. Young children, older adults and people with weakened immune systems are more likely to develop severe illness.
